Domain 5 – Failure Analysis & Component Integrity

We are frequently requested to investigate and identify degradation and failure mechanisms in accelerator and fusion components.

Our work includes corrosion analysis, fracture toughness evaluation, weld inspections, dimensional comparisons before and after operation, and non-destructive examinations.

A comprehensive approach — combining the expertise of the EN-MME-MM team with advanced diagnostic tools specifically adapted to CERN components — ensures the structural integrity of cryogenic assemblies, magnets, pressure vessels, and other critical systems.
