Large Components

Overview

Within the DFHX series of complex components, our Metrology Laboratory performed dimensional verification and alignment checks on both the central vacuum chamber and the cryostat assembly.
High-accuracy Creaform laser scanning was used to verify the conformity of welded and pre-welded subassemblies with respect to their CAD reference models.

Objectives

  • Verify dimensional accuracy and positioning of tubes and connectors.
  • Assess geometrical deviations before and after welding operations.
  • Support project teams with correction feedback and traceable measurement reports.
  • Quantify deviations relative to reference drawing nd CAD model geometry.

Conclusion

The DFHX metrology campaign demonstrates the importance of high-resolution laser scanning for complex, multi-stage assemblies.
Results provided actionable feedback on geometrical deviations, enabling targeted corrections before final welding and integration.
